In August 2023, Bowhill Grange was the location for the filming of Ancestry Road, an Australian movie which was directed by Glenn Triggs and his Melbourne based, independent production company, Dark Epic Films.
With the story set in Scotland, Triggs chose Bowhill Grange after finding our Airbnb listing and then our Instagram site. He felt that as the sweeping hills, big landscapes, dramatic Southern Midlands light and the wonderful setting of our collection of heritage cottages would make the perfect backdrop for his movie.
Shot in just 18 days and using all areas of Bowhill Grange, our cottages and the surrounding hills. Ancestry Road commenced limited cinema screenings in June 2025 and can now be viewed on either Prime or Apple TV.
